JohnPETTITVal, beloved wife of the late John Pettit who died on 29th March 2022 aged 77 years and all of John's family would most sincerely like to thank all the many mourners who joined us on the day of his parting, some going back many years and others travelling hundreds of miles to pay their respects to a man full of character and personality. You all made it an unforgettable and memorable day for the family. Grateful thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Littlefields Surgery, Grimsby for the superb care of John during his illness, the helpful caring staff of the Amethyst unit, Dermatology and Oncology departments of the Princess Diana Hospital, Grimsby. Special thanks to the nurses from St. Barnabas Hospice, Louth, the District Community nurses and Marie Curie home care staff. Thank you also for all the donations to the charities. To the special friends and neighbours who came to John's assistance when we needed urgent help during his courageous and dignified fight at home. A special mention to Andrew for his father's eulogy, Oliver for his reading and Jo Davey for leading the celebration which had all been planned by John. Val has been so grateful to all those who have taken the time to write letters and send cards, expressing memories of John. Thank you to Simon and his staff at the Othello who presented a wonderful array of refreshments. John stated that because he had been out of circulation for so long he wouldn't get many at his funeral - You all proved him wrong, which didn't happen often! Thank you all.
